2014 has been a busy year with hammock reviews, and I’d like to thank all the manufacturers who have sent me gear to review and evaluate. There’s still a lot of reviews I’m working on, but with the holidays approaching, I’ve wrapped up the few I have left with a plan to post them early in 2015. Here’s a snapshot of what I’ll be opening for Christmas:
Upcoming Reviews for 2015
- Sierra Madre Research Nubé Shelter
- Sierra Madre Research Pares and xPlor Hammocks
- ENO JungleNest
- Hammeck Envy Hammock
- Dream Hammock Thunderbird
- Bison Bag Hammock
- AntigravityGear.com Quicksilver Ultralight Hammock System
Is there Hammock-related Gear You’d Like Reviewed?
Am I missing a manufacturer you’d like to see represented? If so, let me know and I’ll do my best to reach out to them. If you are a manufacturer or cottage vendor, please contact me.
Can you give any information on when to expect the reviews for the SMR Pares and SMR Nube?
I completed the tests and report last month and plan to post them this month.
Thanks, looking forward to it.
Would really like to hear this one! That is a system I was looking at.
ENO hammock junglenest
Thanks Zach. I purchased a JungleNest a few months ago and forgot to add that one to my list. I’ll sneak it in-between some of the other reviews.
Thanks! I’m new to hammock camping and the junglenest is the onew I bought. Have not gotten to use it yet but I am very excited.
Looking forward to your review!
We missed you at University of Scouting today. I was looking forward to your presentation but understand you had some car troubles. I hope all turned out okay for you. Your contributions to the hammock community have helped me emensly as I made the transition to hanging. I look forward to your upcoming reviews.
Me too. I was really disappointed.
Would love to see a review of the new pouch and hammock sleeve from tttm
Hmm. I’m not sure I’ve seen the sleeve. Is it just a long tube stuff sack?
what do you think about using sheep skin as an underpad during cold weather? I don’t have an underquilt yet…
Whatever keeps you warm 🙂 I used a couple of big Coleman sleeping bags the first few winters I started hanging.
When do you think you’ll be able to post tevirw on antigravity gear system? Have a fam camping trip here in TX in March and I’ve put one in my “cart” and waiting to push “purchase” but it ain’t cheap so I want to get your expert advice!
I’ll get on it! It’s mostly very positive. If you are a lightweight guy, you’ll really be happy. I’ve got to post a few so look for it in a week.
I would like to see a review of the Tensile Connect. I am seriously considering buying one of these, but for the money it is still up in the air. I just finished your excellent review of their Stingray.
Husband in military and I want to get him hammock so he does not have to sleep on ground, no they do not issue hammock just tent, what do u know about Warbonnet Outdoors’ Warbonnet Blackbird.
I’ve got a review of the Blackbird posted. I would first check with your husband to make sure he can bring and use the hammock in the field. Some FTX’s may not allow it, but in garrison, perhaps. Please email me and we can chat about options that may work well.
