The folks over at Handy Hammock are sponsoring a giveaway of their lightweight hammock stand kit, exclusively with the Ultimate Hang. I am delighted that they are offering this promotion through the Ultimate Hang, not only because I am a fan of the stand (check out my review, if you haven’t already), but also because it gives me a chance to try Rafflecopter. If everything works the way I hope, Rafflecopter will manage all the entries and provide multiple ways to earn points toward the prize.
The giveaway ends on January 19, so what are you waiting for?

This’d make a pretty sweet birthday present!
sweet!
This looks really cool – just need to figure out where to put the tarp…
After I made some modifications to the stand, I was able to hang any of my camping hammocks on it, including the 11′ BIAS Micro and a Hennessy Hammock. Spreading the struts apart enough not only allowed for longer hammocks, but also let me pitch a tarp directly to the stand. If you use the hammock that comes with the stand, you can use trekking poles to pitch the tarp over the stand.
Saw the giveaway posted on hammockforums and said ‘Wow, this sounds great’. I wish I had this stand at Maxville games…. had to use my Frontline as a bivy, didn’t zip
up properly and awoke to ants. Lots of ants. On me, in my blanket, on my exped mat, all over the inside of hammock. Had I been hanging, I would have at least zipped up properly (at least that is my excuse). Anywho, a great giveaway, thanks for the chance to you and the folks at Handy Hammock.
I’ve got a trip coming up in the Grand Canyon next month and I’m planning to bring the Handy Hammock stand. It’s a great option for those spots where trees are missing or unavailable; opens up whole new areas for hammocks when backpacking.
I’d love to win this!
This would be great for me while motorcycle camping because many of the overnight stops I make won’t allow attachments to their trees
Would love this for home and the balds.
I’d love to win this!
Thanks!
Tie in and hang anywhere! I’m game.
Definitely an area in hammock camping that needs attention. Can’t wait to research this a little more.
Cool beans
the stand looks awesome. Good luck with the Canyon trip.
I’m in.
I have been looking at a bug bivy pad as a “just in case” alternative. It looks like the Handy Hammock may be a more desirable option.
Using the hammock without trees? Yes please!
This would be an awesome addition to my gear addiction… um, I mean, I would love to win this.
This system looks like the answer to many woes regarding places where there aren’t enough trees. I find this particularly interesting for motorcycle camping where I may find myself just pulling off a roadway to camp along the side and not want to leave my bike. I look forward to reading more about them.
This would be great for those treeless times……looks interesting.
Looks like a fine addition to my Hennessy Hammock kit!
This looks so intriguing.
Out here in the desert, where trees large enough to hang are scarce, one of these would be awesome!
looks interesting.. no trees needed..
Sweet deal. I’m on it!
This would be a good test for some tree less hanging
I saw this on the HF and had to sign up for it. Good luck every one.
I NEEd this! I’ve been caught to many times in non-foresty (forestey?) places with no place to hang.
We are planning a car camping trip in the Sonoran desert this summer. This setup would be great in that treeless wonderland.
Having one of these would make it so much easier to hang when and where I want to…anytime and any place..
Having one of these would be awesome.
This would be great for scout trips
Great for campground/parks where tying to trees is not allowed!
So exited
Great idea! Our backyard trees won’t support a hammock for another 5-10 years.
Very Cool!
Thanks for posting the review and running the drawing. If I don’t win, I see a purchase in the near future.
I would love to use this on the AT this weekend.
Looks like a great design. I can’t wait to try one out.
Great idea and much easier and lighter than using reebar! Can’t wait to check it out!
This would make a great travel stand!
Saw this on HF and FB…thanks for the chance!
Perfect hammock for treeless sites. Nice review, btw …
Thanks Peter! It is a great stand for treeless areas. I’m planning to bring it with me, just in case, when I hang in the Grand Canyon this year.
Seems like an awesome design
Saw this on Hammock Forum, awesome give away!
This would be great for my back yard.
Handy Hammock eliminates something a hammock normally requires…trees!
Derek – great site! I’m planning to blog about one outdoors-related infographic a week on JustYourAverageHiker.com this year, ran into yours today, and had to do a mega-post, as it’d be cheating if I just highlighted one of yours every week for 2013 🙂 While it’s scheduled for September, I linked to all of your current infographics. Keep up the great work, love the blog!
Thanks man! I look forward to your post!
Great for my backyard!
Looks neat, I will love playing with it when I win (positive reinforcement)
I want, I want!
Sick and slick. Very cool
Nice! good luck everyone!
That would be a great hang 😉
This is an awesome product to take Kayak camping.
This would be an awesome late Christmas present. Plus I need a new hammock my oldest boy outgrew his and stole mine
Only four more days until we pick a winner! Thanks to everyone who has entered so far. If you have any feedback on using Rafflecopter, I’d love to hear it.
This would be a great product to use on the treeless Boy Scout camping trips we take all of the time
woohoo!!
No more hanging from my fence post! Also, naps in an open field!
I am hammock poor and destitute… I really need a hammock!
I would be thrilled to win this hammock system.
Great looking hammock stand!
Where do I send you my shipping info? 😉
Just the thing for my tree-less backyard!
Handy Hammock looks like it could also have a couple indoor
applications where you can’t put an eye bolt in the wall.. I’d love
to experiment with it here in my college dorm room!
Interesting thoughts! It isn’t free-standing so you’d have to figure out a way to anchor it to the ground. It may be trickier than bolts in the wall, but I’d be interested to see what you come up with.
This would be the perfect hammock for an apartment dweller
as well as an intro to hammock camping
Like I said to Eric, it’s not free-standing, so an indoor application would be tricky without some sort of anchors.
I love my hammocks. this is just super awesome!
I’ve been watching these for a while, and am very interested in getting one for use at the beach or other treeless times when hauling a larger stand just isn’t an option.
This is awesome for outdoor activities XD
a day late and a hammock stand short. 🙁
