I use a Hilleberg Tarp 5 over the top – perfect set-up and super-simple with a little practice – I still marvel at how small this all packs down, especially when I’m using my Mountain Equipment Earthrise 400 down-bag!

To get that 24 degree angle with your calculator, you pretend that the length of the hammock fabric goes from one togle to the other?

Thanks for asking. 104 inches. According to my hammock calculator, this puts the hammock at about 24° hang angle — fairly shallow. But for me, this was the perfect. Now, please note that I attached the ridgeline at the toggle of the hammock, not at the base of the loop near the hammock fabric.
