I wish I had better data. The reality is that I don’t like to sleep in the monolite so I don’t have long term data. That speaks volumes. I can only speculate that it will last about the same as any other lightweight fabric, based on the care and diligence you give it.

The listed weights on his website are pretty close to actual. I don’t have the hammock any more to weigh.

But what dis the actual weight turn out to be for this one? Its probably not for me as I am 190 cm and need rhe wider fabrick options from DH. Just got a Darien myself, but made from the 1.7 XL fabric.

It’s a double layer and I am not concerned with some extra weight because I am canoe camping and backyard camping. The double layer is great for a number of reasons.
1. More solid feel than single layer
2. More durable
3. Better if you ever have your dog jump in
4. You can have a different fabric inside and out (obviously). You can get a fabric that feels great and is non slippery for the inside and a fabric that’s durable for the outside. You get to have a nice color inside, maybe something bright) and a different color outside… like maybe camo or some muted color.

The Sparrow has a bug net and a winter cover (if You order it). They zip on and off and are interchangeable. The winter cover really nice in, well, the winter. Keeps the wind off and helps keep some heat in. Sort of like the top of a tent. I highly recommend the custom side screen vents because that’s where your breathing is and it makes the most sense to get that out of the tent rather than having it condense on the inside. It’s also really nice to be able to see outside.

The selection of available fabrics is really pretty amazing. You can get samples at Dream hammocks website or at the website of Ripstop by the Roll.

Great company and they will help you with the many questions and choices you will have.

I just purchased the same hammock almost exactly. I was curious how tall you are?? I am 6’1” and 180 lbs. Randy suggested a 60” wide hammock for me.

Sounds like a great video opportunity! You can test this yourself if you can modify your hammock as to not destroy bug netting. The ratio of length to width is important so that you can take full advantage of the width, otherwise it is an impediment to comfort.
