I have a wide mouth 1 gallon jug. Empty and rinse in the morning.

I DEFINITELY pee more outside. As far as I can tell, my diet and drinking doesn’t change. Weird. I have a section of garden hose and I clamped a cut-off shampoo bottle to it. Very easy to pee and have it drain away into the bushes. No pee bottle to accidentally spill…… eewwww

I noticed the first night hammock camping without hiking that I urinated enormously three times throughout the night with great urgency and volume. When I sleep in a bed I do not have the same result. I believe there is several reasons for this; the moisture in the outside air, more oxygen speeds up metabolism, thermoregulation, and leg elevation. Hammock camping does cause a person to urinate much more has been my experience. The moment I sleep indoors in a bed I’m back to normal.

I am a 365 hammock sleeper (for 3-4 years now) and I have always felt that hammock sleeping increases my need to urinate. It’s something I have just become accustomed to. I am in good health and there have been no other signs that something may be wrong. It wasn’t until a recent, week long visit to a friends that really got me thinking. I spent the whole week sleeping on a mattress. In that whole week I didn’t get up, or feel the need to get up and relieve myself even once. The first night back in the hammock – within a hour I felt like I needed to go. And I went just before laying down! So crazy! It’s nice to, at least, see that I’m not totally alone in this “phenomena”. And that there is at least a likely and logical reason for it!

Can you post a link to one of these straps? It sound like something from which I could benefit. (copied from Jeff, below)

I also use a CPAP and sleep much more soundly when I use it. Seems like the battery would add a lot of weight.
